Using a decades old Siberian handcraft, Russian designer Anastasiya Koshcheeva created a modern lounge chair
made from birchbark. Birchbark is a natural material that’s flexible,
durable, and strong, while also being water-repellent and antibacterial.
Koshcheeva decided to reinterpret the tradition into a modern technique
by using it for the material of the Sibirjak chair and ottoman.
Koshcheeva combined the birchbark with a bold orange string that not
only holds the material together, it gives it the modern touch it needs.
The metal legs not only make the chair and ottoman stable but also give
them a cool modern look. So simple, so modern and so cool!
